BETHLEHEM, September 26, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces closed all military gates at the entrances to villages in the western countryside of Bethlehem on Saturday, restricting the movement of Palestinians and vehicles.

A security source told WAFA that Israeli forces closed the gates and prevented residents, including pedestrians, from passing through, disrupting movement between the villages and Bethlehem city and its surrounding areas.

The source added that Israeli forces raided the Karm al-Saraawi hamlet in the Khalayel al-Louz area and seized a surveillance camera recording device.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided the town of Tuqu' and the towns of Dar Salah, al-Shawawra, and Za'tara east of Bethlehem, patrolling their streets. No arrests were reported.

According to data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, 942 checkpoints, closure points, and other obstacles have been recorded across the West Bank, including 824 fixed checkpoints and closure points and 118 linear barriers consisting of earth berms, trenches, and roadblocks.

Data from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs puts the combined length of these barriers at approximately 107.7 kilometers.
