RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas issued today a presidential decree to form the Higher Coordination Council for the Justice Sector headed by the President of the Supreme Judicial Council.

The new Council will include:

The President’s Legal Advisor, the Minister of Justice, the Attorney-General, the Chief of Police, the president of the Bar Association and the director-general of the Independent Commission for Human Rights.

The Higher Coordination Council for the Justice Sector aims to enhance cooperation and integration between the components of the justice sector in accordance with the Basic Law and international standards. It will study the components of the justice sector, monitor obstacles to its growth and work to overcome them.
