RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed today the independence of the Palestinian judiciary, stressing that no party should interfere in its work.

This came during a meeting the President held with members of the Interim Supreme Judicial Council headed by the president of the council, Judge Issa Abu Sharar.

President Abbas stressed his full interest in supporting the work of the judiciary and its independence in order to restore peoples‘ confidence in the Palestinian judiciary.

He also stressed his full support for all what the Palestinian judiciary needs in all aspects and to prevent interference by any party in its work and independence.

Members of the Council said they will make every effort to consolidate the independence of the judiciary and its restitution.
