RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 (WAFA) –Wednesday’s temperature is set to slightly rise and approach 6°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to hot conditions in various districts and very hot conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime.
Mild conditions are expected in mountainous districts and relatively hot conditions in other districts in nighttime. Wind is northwesterly and light to moderate with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 24°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 33°C and a low of 23°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 44°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Thursday’s temperature is set to slightly drop by 1°C with unseasonably hot conditions in daytime, particularly in the Jordan Valley, and mild conditions in nighttime, particularly in mountainous districts.
PMD expects Friday’s temperature to further drop, paving the way to a relief in the heat stress. Relatively hot to hot conditions are expected in daytime and mild conditions in nighttime.
A slight rise in temperature is expected on Saturday, paving the way to hot to very hot conditions.
People are warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
