RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 25, 2019 (WAFA) - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings slightly increased by 0.01% in the West Bank during June 2019 compared with the previous month, said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Thursday.
The decrease was due to increase in labour wages by 0.76%, whereas the prices of raw materials and rental of equipment decreased by 0.36%, and 0.09%, respectively, during the same period.
The CCI for non-residential buildings also slightly increased by 0.03% in the West Bank during June 2019 compared with May 2019, mainly due to an increase in labour wages by 0.76%, while the prices of raw materials and rental of equipment deceased by 0.31%, 0.11%, respectively.
No change was recorded in the CCI for skeleton buildings in June when compared to May 2019, in spite of an increase in labour 0.55%, and 0.16%, respectively.
The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) increased by 0.32% in the West Bank during June compared with May mainly due to the increase in labour wages by 1.27%, the prices of raw materials by 0.59%, and operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 0.03% and in Prices of rental of equipment, while rental of equipment decreased by 0.87%.
The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) also increased by 0.15% in the West Bank during June 2019 compared with the previous month. Water Networks Cost Index increased by 0.39%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.42%.
The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) also increased by 0.20% in the West Bank during the same period.
