JORDAN VALLEY, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 (WAFA) – A European delegation was able to visit today a couple of hard-hit Palestinian communities in the northern Jordan Valley despite attempts by the Israeli army to block the visit, according to a local official.
The delegation, invited by the Israeli rights organization, B’Tselem, to get a firsthand look at the situation of the Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley who are constantly harassed by the Israeli army, was able to reach Khirbet al-Himmeh and Bardala village where they heard from residents about their problems with the Israeli army and restriction imposed on their movement and living, said Mutaz Bisharat, an official in the governorate of Toubas.
He said soldiers intercepted the delegation, whose members come from several European countries, at al-Ras al-Ahmar area in the northern Jordan Valley and attempted to block its advancement to the area communities.
However, the delegation was nevertheless able to reach some communities, said Bisharat.
