RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is hot to very hot and dry in daytime and mild in nighttime, particularly in mountainous districts, with a drop of temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is northwesterly and light to moderate with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 21°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 20°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

No significant change in the weather is expected on Thursday and Friday.

A slight relief is expected in the heat stress on Saturday, yet relatively hot to hot conditions continue to prevail in various districts in daytime and mild conditions in nighttime.

People are warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
