ANKARA, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 (WAFA) - Turkey condemned today Israel‘s demolition yesterday of 10 Palestinian buildings in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sur Baher, saying the act intends to change the demographic structure of the occupied city.
A statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry said the demolition was another example of Israel’s “aggressive occupation” policies.
“We strongly condemn such acts towards changing the demographic structure of Jerusalem,” said the statement, calling on Israel to stop illegal actions that damage hopes for a two-state solution.
It urged the international community to preserve the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and take steps to protect the rights of the Palestinian people.
