RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 21, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather on Sunday is moderately hot and partially cloudy with a slight rise in temperature, to be slightly above seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate and active at times. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 28°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 25°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Temperature is expected to rise further on Monday through Tuesday to become 4°C above the annual average as a new heat wave hits the Palestinian areas.

A slight drop in temperature is expected for Wednesday but remains above annual average by 3°C.

People are warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
