RAMALLAH, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is partially cloudy and relatively warm in mountainous districts and very warm in the Jordan Valley in daytime with a rise in temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Relatively warm conditions are expected in nighttime. Wind is northwesterly and light to moderate with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 23°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 25°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Heavy to extreme heat stress is set to prevail on Wednesday, paving the way to a significant rise of temperature which approaches 9°C above the seasonal average. Therefore, extremely hot and dry weather conditions are expected.
PMD expects the heat wave to regress on Thursday, paving the way to a significant drop in temperature which approaches 2°C above the seasonal average. Therefore, partially cloudy and relatively warm to warm conditions are expected.
Friday’s weather is mild in mountainous districts and relatively warm to warm in other districts with seasonal temperature.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to sunlight on Wednesday, especially during the peak hours between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
