RAMALLAH, Monday, July 15, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is partially cloudy and mild in mountainous districts and relatively warm to warm in other districts in daytime with no significant change in temperature, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Weather in nighttime is pleasant in mountainous districts and relatively warm in other districts. Wind is northwesterly and light to moderate with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 29°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 28°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 24°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 23°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Tuesday’s temperature is set to rise and approach 3°C above the seasonal average with partially cloudy and relatively warm in mountainous districts and very warm conditions in the Jordan Valley in daytime. Relatively warm conditions are expected in nighttime.
Wednesday’s temperature is set to significantly rise and approach 9°C above the seasonal average, paving the way to heavy heat stress. Therefore, extremely hot and dry weather conditions are expected.
PMD expects the heat wave on Thursday is regress, paving the way to a significant drop in temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average. Therefore, relatively warm to warm conditions are expected.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day, between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
