RAMALLAH, Sunday, July 14, 2019 (WAFA) – News about the meeting between President Mahmoud Abbas and the Egyptian security delegation in Ramallah hit the front pages of three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Sunday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Ayyam and al-Quds said that President Abbas received the Egyptian security delegation in the presidential headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah, where he stressed the importance of continuing Egyptian efforts to end the Palestinian division and protect the two-state solution.
President Abbas also praised the Egyptian leadership’s support to the Palestinian people.
A statement by Saeb Erekat, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), was reported in al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida. He said that US President Donald Trump’s administration is destroying the international law.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported a statement by Trump’s Middle East peace envoy, Jason Greenblatt, in which he said that the US peace plan doesn’t mention the term “two-state solution,” adding that it would be realistic and could end the Arab-Israeli conflict.
According to al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Quds, Israeli forces continued their crackdown against the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Issawiya.
Al-Ayyam said that Israeli authorities handed a Palestinian citizen from Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron in the West Bank, a notice informing him about their intention to demolish his home for lack of an Israeli construction permit.
