Seven Palestinians detained from West Bank

JERUSALEM, Wednesday, July 10, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today detained at least seven Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, said security sources and WAFA correspondent.

WAFA correspondent confirmed that Israeli police detained three Palestinians from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.

Another, identified as a member of the Siyam family, was detained when dozens of heavily-armed Israeli police stormed the Siyams’ house to evict them.

In Bethlehem district, security sources said that Israeli military vehicles raided Husan village, west of Bethlehem, where soldiers rounded up two Palestinians.

Another military raid was conducted in Qalqiliya city, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
