RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 10, 2019 (WAFA) – The demolition of Palestinian structures and grab of land for settlement expansion hit the front page headlines in Wednesday’s issue of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
The dailies reported that Israeli military bulldozers demolished a Palestinian house to the northeast of Yatta town in the southern Hebron hills.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam added that Israeli military bulldozers also demolished the foundations of a Palestinian house under construction in Az-Za‘ayyem village, east of Jerusalem.
Al-Quds added that Israeli police raided Sur Baher, southeast of Jerusalem, in preparation for the demolition of 16 Palestinian apartments.

The dailies said that Israeli settlers razed 24 dunums of Palestinian farmland to the east of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
They reported that Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian man near Salem military checkpoint, west of Jenin city in the northern West Bank.
Egypt’s efforts to achieve intra-Palestinian reconciliation also dominated the front page headlines in al-Quds and al-Ayyam.
Al-Quds said that Hamas senior official Mousa Abu Marzouq visited Cairo to discuss the intra-Palestinian reconciliation portfolio.
It added that an Egyptian security delegation is scheduled to arrive to Ramallah tomorrow to hold meetings on the reconciliation portfolio. According to al-Ayyam, the delegation is set to arrive to Ramallah during the weekend.
Both dailies highlighted Israeli media reports that an Israeli attorney has requested the seizure of properties and bank accounts of the Palestinian Authority (PA).
This request was made following an Israeli court ruling that the PA is liable to pay over 1 billion shekels ($280 million) in damages for 17 attacks during the second popular uprising (intifada) between 2000 and 2005.
Al-Quds commented on the two-day annual Christian Zionist summit, the so-called Christians United for Israel, which kicked off Monday in Washington DC.
It elaborated that the US administration officials, who attended the summit, consider Israel’s security the basic criterion of peace.
Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh was reported in al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida stating that Palestinian leadership’s mission is to safeguard the firmly-held national principles or constants.
Al-Ayyam said that Israeli occupation military has stepped up drilling works purportedly to uncover cross-border tunnels to the east of Khan Younes city in the southern besieged Gaza Strip.

With regards to the upcoming Palestinian ministerial delegation’s visit to Iraq, al-Hayat al-Jadida printed a report titled Will Palestine import oil from Iraq?
It argued that the import of Iraqi oil is a “strategic step towards economic disengagement from Israel”.
Finally, al-Hayat al-Jadida said that a Palestinian was sworn-in for the first time as a chief justice in the US.
