RAMALLAH, Wednesday, July 10, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is hot to very hot with a rise temperature which approaches 4°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is southwesterly to northwesterly and light to moderate with occasional gusts. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 23°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 31°C and a low of 22°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Thursday’s heat stress is set to increase, paving the way to a slight rise of temperature along with hot to very hot and dry conditions in most districts in daytime and unseasonably hot conditions in nighttime.

PMD expects Friday’s temperature to remain 5°C above the seasonal average with hot to very hot and dry conditions in most districts in daytime and hot conditions in nighttime.

A relief is expected in the heat stress on Saturday, paving the way to mild conditions in the mountains and relatively warm conditions in other districts.

PMD warns people of direct sun exposure for long periods on Friday and Saturday, especially during peak hours between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and of the dangers of setting fire to dry grass.
