RAMALLAH, Thursday, July 05, 2019 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas received at the presidential headquarters in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah the EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Susanna Terstal.

President Abbas briefed Terstal on the latest developments in the Palestinian cause and the political process in light of the Israeli measures and the American decisions that contradict international legitimacy resolutions.

He praised the EU‘s position on the Palestinian issue and its ongoing support for the Palestinian people to build the institutions of the Palestinian state, stressing the importance of communication between the two sides during the next phase.

Terstal affirmed the EU‘s positions in support of the Palestinian people and toward the peace process, pointing out the meetings and contacts it is making to emphasize its firm stance towards the political process based on the two-state solution.
