Government to spare no effort to ensure advancement in technology, says Prime Minister

HEBRON, Wednesday, July 3, 2019 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh announced the accreditation of the Master of Intelligent Systems of Polytechnic University of Palestine by the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, after fulfilling all the required standards.

This came during a speech that Shtayyeh delivered at the 38th graduation ceremony of the Polytechnic University of Palestine on Tuesday evening, in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, with the presence of a host of officials besides to the education and administration staff at the university.

“It is nice to think about fulfilling your personal dreams of getting a job, setting up a project, traveling abroad for work or education, or getting married and having a family, but whatever your dreams are, consider that you are part of a homeland called Palestine and a national liberation project,” Shtayyeh said in his speech.

“It is important that our personal successes be a collective success in favor of the advancement of our country and our people and the attainment of freedom, unity and living in dignity.”

“Today, we are witnessing the birth of a new generation of Palestinian learners, from this non-traditional university with the efforts of its distinguished educational and administrative staff and the vision of its wise council. The University‘s programs are in line with the development strategy of our government. Today, we seek to move our society from being needy to being productive and transfer our education systems from education to learning, and from here we seek to make all of our universities adopt the vocational training that characterizes this university within a few of the nation‘s universities. "

"We have taken a decision along with the Council of Ministers to start the establishment of a vocational college in Palestine, and a number of businessmen have donated 5 buildings so far," the Prime Minister said. “The university aims to provide a variety of programs period-wise and specialization-wise for the graduates and the unemployed in order to reduce unemployment, poverty, and the gap between the outputs of educational institutions and the requirements of the market. "

"The world used to be divided into a first world and a third world. Today we are divided into what is fast and what is slow, and we in Palestine want to move to the fast, and in the government we will do everything possible to help our people advance in technology and information,” Shtayeh added.
