PCB wings big at 20th Arab Radio and Television Festival

 

TUNISIA, Monday, July 01, 2019 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) won six awards during the 20th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia’s capital, Tunis.

The PBC was awarded the top prize for the Arab Song Award for the song “Watan al-Mahabba Wal-Salam” by Palestinian singer Nancy Hawwa, besides to other awards for TV shows.

Other winners included Qatar, Saudi ARabia, Tunisia, Yemen, Iraq, Oman and Morocco.

Palestinian singer Yacoub Shahin, who won the title of Arab Idol in 2017, took the stage with a Palestinian heritage-themed performance followed by a Dabke performance by the Palestinian folkloric troupe Jafra.

The festival, which lasted from June 27 to 30, was organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union in cooperation with the Établissement de la Radiodiffusion-TélévisionTunisienne (ERTT), the Tunisian Radio and Television Establishment, and the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat).

The festival aims to contribute to the development of the Arab radio and TV production and enhance its quality in order to meet the aspirations of member corporations and reflect the principles that underpin their work.
