RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 (WAFA) - The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed an increase in trade deficit by 14% in April compared to March. It also increased by 8% compared to April 2018 and reached $414 million, said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
Exports decreased in April by 3% compared to March. It also decreased by 1% compared to April 2018 and reached $90.7 million.
Exports to Israel slightly decreased in April by 0.4% compared to March and it represented 87% of total exports in April, said the PCBS.
At the same time, exports to other countries decreased by 19% during the same period compared to March and reached $12 million.
Imports increased in April by 11% compared to March. It also increased by 7% compared to April and reached $504.7 million.
Imports from Israel increased by 12% in April compared to March and it represented 58% of total imports in April.
At the same time, imports from other countries increased by 9% compared to March.
