JENIN, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 (WAFA) – A woman was named today as head of the al-Jadida village council making her the first woman in the history of the Jenin district in the north of the occupied West Bank to become head of a local council.
According to Ragheb Abu Diyak, general director of the Local Government in the Jenin district, the al-Jadida village council took the unprecedented move of unanimously electing Kifaya Zaqzouq to the post of head of council.
He described Zaqzouq as a community active person.
