Construction Cost Index stable in May, says Statistics Bureau

 

RAMALLAH, Sunday, June 23, 2019 (WAFA) – The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings remained stable at the level of 105.95 in the West Bank during May 2019 compared with April 2019 (base year 2013=100), the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said.

PCBS said CCI for non-residential buildings reached 105.83 with a slight decrease of 0.02% in the West Bank during May 2019 compared with April 2019 (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, rental of equipment increased by 0.10%. At the same time, both the prices of raw materials and labor wages remained stable during May compared with the previous month.

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw materials slightly decreased by 0.03%, while rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.09%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during May compared with the previous month.

Decrease in CCI for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings reached 104.87 with a decrease of 0.10% in the West Bank during May compared with April (base year 2013=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.16%, while rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.06%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during May 2019 compared with the previous month.

Slight Increase in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 109.04 with a slight increase of 0.02% in the West Bank during May 2019 compared with April 2019 (base month December 2008=100).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw materials increased by 0.12%, while operating costs of equipment and maintenance decreased by 1.28%, and rental of equipment decreased by 0.16%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during May 2019 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 113.45 with an increase of 0.18% in the West Bank during May 2019 compared with April 2019 (base month January 2010=100).

Water Networks Cost Index reached 116.03 with an increase of 0.35%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 107.76 with a decrease of 0.24% during May 2019 compared with the previous month.

Slight Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 109.48 with a slight increase of 0.09% in the West Bank* during May 2019 compared with April 2019 (base month January 2010=100).
