Sad and appalled, says German diplomat over Israeli killing of health worker

RAMALLAH, Thursday, March 28, 2019 (\WAFA) – “Sad and appalled” is how a German diplomat reacted today to news of the Israeli army killing of a young Palestinian volunteer health worker in Bethlehem the day before, calling for investigation and accountability of the incident.

In a tweet, Christian Clages, Head of Mission of the German Representative Office in the Palestinian territories, wrote: “Sad and appalled by this senseless death of young paramedic: Several killings of Palestinians over the past days and weeks without clarity on the circumstances raise more than just questions. There must be investigations and accountability.”

Sajed Mezhar, 17, was shot in the abdomen and critically wounded while attending to fellow Palestinians injured in Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem during clashes with Israeli soldiers who raided the camp to arrest a local activist. He died hours later of his wounds.
