Weather: Pleasant conditions to end; drop in temperature expected early in week

 

RAMALLAH, Saturday, January 26, 2019 (WAFA) – The pleasant conditions that prevailed during the past week are expected to end by the end of the weekend as a drop in temperature and rain are expected for early in the coming week.

The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said clear and moderate weather conditions are expected to prevail on Saturday during the day with a significant rise in temperature, which turn cold at night. Wind is southwesterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, active at times and sea waves are low to medium high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 10°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 18°C and a low of 9°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 14°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 22°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A significant drop in temperature is expected for Sunday, yet remains a bit higher than the seasonal average.

However, a further drop in temperature is expected for Monday as conditions become very cold and cloudy with rain, thunderstorms and hail expected in the northern areas in the morning to spread and reach the rest of the areas during the day.

A significant rise in temperature is expected for Tuesday as the conditions of the day before end, according to the PMD.
