HEBRON, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained at least 13 Palestinians during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Israeli military vehicles stormed the Hebron city neighborhood of Wadi Abu Rumman, where soldiers detained a Palestinian.
Israeli forces also detained two other Palestinians from the southern West Bank district of Hebron, including one from Dura town, south of Hebron.
In Bethlehem district, an Israeli military force raided Tuqu town, southeast of Bethlehem city, detaining a Palestinian.
PPS confirmed in a statement that two Palestinian minors, aged 15 and 16, were also detained during others raids in Bethlehem district.
In Jerusalem, Israeli military police rounded up three Palestinians from Issawiya neighborhood.
A similar military raid was carried out in Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles raided the northern West Bank city of Nablus, where soldiers detained two Palestinians and ransacked several houses.
Another was detained during a similar predawn raid in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
