RAMALLAH, Monday, December 17, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian government condemned on Monday Israeli demolition of the family residence of Ashraf Naalweh in Shweikeh neighborhood in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm.
Government spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud said in a statement that “what Israel has committed today in Shweikeh is a collective punishment and an act of vengeance.”
He said the Israeli government is escalating its aggression against the Palestinian people, their land and their property by setting military checkpoints and barriers all across of the West Bank while allowing armed settlers to attack Palestinian civilians.
Mahmoud urged the international community to put a stop to the Israeli aggression and to implement international law that emphasizes an end to the Israeli occupation in Palestine and establishing the independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.
The Israeli army demolished early Monday the first floor of the Naalweh building in Shweikeh after accusing its son, Ashraf, of killing two Israeli settlers two months ago. Ashraf was shot and killed by the army last week.
