RAMALLAH, Monday, December 10, 2018 (WAFA) – Dozens of heavily armed Israeli soldiers raided WAFA news offices in Ramallah on Monday and fired teargas inside the building causing suffocation and difficulty in breathing among the journalists who were inside the building.

The soldiers broke into the servers‘ room and seized video tapes of the surveillance cameras after forcing the staff to stay in one room.

The army raided the northern sections of Ramallah in the morning and seized cameras from buildings.

Palestinians clashed with the soldiers along their path and when the soldiers reached the building WAFA is located in and which is not far from the presidential headquarters, the clashes intensified.

The soldiers showered the Palestinian stone throwers with teargas and stun grenades. They also fired live bullets and rubber-coated metal bullets injuring few, according to the Red Crescent.

The army left WAFA offices an hour later and eventually pulled out of Ramallah.

The raid into Ramallah is believed related to the drive-by shooting attack the night before north of Ramallah in which several Israeli settlers were shot and injured.
