Economy minister calls on Islamic states to support Palestinian economy, steadfastness

 

ISTANBUL, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 (WAFA) - Minister of National Economy Abeer Odeh Wednesday called in a meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) held in Istanbul to support the Palestinian economy and people.

She stressed the importance of this meeting in consolidating and strengthening economic and trade relations between Palestine and the member states of the COMCEC, strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and supporting government efforts in developing the national economy until it becomes strong and capable of meeting the requirements of building a Palestinian state.

She said Palestine is eager to increase trade with COMCEC member states and to increase export towards Islamic and Arab markets.

Odeh held a series of meetings on the sideline of the conference with the representatives of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and discussed ways to support Jerusalem and the Bank‘s role in implementing the decisions of the Arab and Islamic summits related to the provision of funding for the implementation of the strategic plan for sectoral development in Jerusalem 2018-2022 and the projects of the IDB in Palestine intended to support economic development and the Palestinian economy.
