RAMALLAH, October 3, 2018 (WAFA) – Students at Khan al-Ahmar school Wednesday delivered a letter to the German Representative Office in Ramallah addressed to Chancellor Angela Merkel urging her to save their community and school from imminent demolition.
The Israeli High Court gave the green light to the army to demolish the Palestinian village and displace its residents in order to build a Jewish settlement on its location. The international community has spoken out strongly against the demolition.
In the letter, the students appealed to Merkel, who starts on Wednesday a two-day state visit to Israel, to use her influence to prevent the demolition that would displace them from their village and school, which is one of 12 schools threatened with demolition by Israel in the Bedouin communities east of Jerusalem.
