12 Palestinians injured as Israeli army attacks Ramallah protest

RAMALLAH, September 21, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Friday shot and injured 12 Palestinians by rubber-coated bullets after cracking down on the weekly protest against Israeli settlements in the village of Ras Karkar, west of Ramallah, according to local sources.

Soldiers fired rubber-coated steel rounds and teargas at the nonviolent protesters to disperse them, injuring 12 of them, including a journalist, and causing many cases of suffocation from gas inhalation.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said it was able to manage to treat the wounded at the scene of the protest.

Palestinians from Ras Karkar have been organizing a nonviolent march for the third Friday in protest about Israel’s intention to confiscate large tracts of land near the village for settlement construction and expansion purposes.

Meanwhile, two Palestinians were shot and injured by rubber-coated rounds when Israeli occupation forces attacked the weekly protest against Israeli settlement construction in the village of Kafr Qaddoum, near Qalqilia city in the West Bank.
