Israeli aggression on Tulkarm enters its 108th day admit escalation

TULKARM, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) —The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 108th consecutive day, while they continue on the Nur Shams camp for the 95th day, amid increasing field escalation and ongoing military reinforcements.

WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces deployed military vehicles toward the city and its two camps from the Nitzani Oz checkpoint gate to the west, patrolling the main streets, provocatively honking their horns, deliberately driving against traffic, and obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles.

She added that the city is seeing a large presence of infantry units, especially on Nablus Street along the road connecting the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, heading back and forth towards the Shuweika roundabout and Alimi Street, obstructing the movement of citizens and vehicles.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces continue their escalation on the ground in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, amidst a tight siege, preventing residents from entering to inspect their homes or take any of their necessities. This has been accompanied by the sound of explosions, live ammunition, and sound bombs throughout the area.

Over the past few days, Nur Shams camp has witnessed widespread demolition and destruction of residential buildings in the neighborhoods of Al-Manshiya, Al-Maslakh, Al-Jami', Al-Eyada, and Al-Shuhada.

This is part of the occupation's plan to demolish 106 homes and residential buildings in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps. Tension remains high in the camp, with residents anticipating a new wave of demolitions following their forced displacement from their homes.

The occupation continues to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, transforming them into military barracks after forcing residents to evacuate. Meanwhile, military vehicles remain stationed in the area, some of which have remained under occupation control for more than two months.

The ongoing Israeli aggression and escalation on the city of Tulkarm and its two camps has resulted in the deaths of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant.

Dozens have also been injured and detained, and the infrastructure has been extensively destroyed, with homes, shops, and vehicles subjected to total and partial demolition, arson, vandalism, looting, and theft.

The aggression has also resulted in the forced displacement of more than 4,200 families from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, comprising over 25,000 residents. Over 400 homes have been completely destroyed, and 2,573 others partially destroyed. Their entrances and alleys have been sealed off with earth mounds, transforming them into isolated areas devoid of any sign of life.
