RAMALLAH, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources stated that "90% of families in the Gaza Strip are facing severe water shortage,  due to the occupation's systematic destruction of infrastructure, as the aggression enters its 583rd day.

The same sources emphasized that the percentage of contaminated water samples has risen to more than 25%, leading to the spread of numerous diseases among citizens.

They pointed out that with the onset of summer and rising temperatures, the need for water, especially drinking water, increases, and resident communities in displacement sites are suffering catastrophic conditions due to the lack of available water sources.

They added that the cesspits designated for sewage increase the risk to the groundwater, as 90% of desalination plants are completely out of service.

They noted that 80% of sewage plants are out of service, increasing the rate of seawater pollution.
