RAMALLAH, May 14, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday evening chaired a meeting of high-ranking security commanders at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.
During the meeting, which was attended by Vice President of the State of Palestine and PLO Executive Committee Vice Chairman, Hussein al-Sheikh, President Abbas was briefed by the security chiefs on the security services’ efforts to carry out the "Homeland Protection" campaign to uphold the rule of law and ensure the security and safety of Palestinian citizens.
He commended the security services for their efforts, particularly given the harsh conditions the Palestinian people have been going through, while stressing the importance of enforcing the rule of law, safeguarding the security and dignity of citizens, and maintaining full coordination among the security services to provide professional policing and security services that Palestinian citizens rightfully expect.
The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Hajj Ismail Jaber, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Palestinian Security Forces; Major General Ziad Hab al-Rih, Minister of Interior; Major General Munir al-Zoubi, Presidential Advisor for Military Affairs; and Wael Lafi, Presidential Advisor for Legal Affairs.
