RAMALLAH, September 6, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday detained seven Palestinians, including a child, during a number of overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Israeli forces detained two Palestinians after ransacking their homes during a raid that triggered violent clashes in Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

Soldiers opened fire at local youths attempting to block their passage and threw stones and empty bottles, injuring a protestor with a live round in the leg.

Another Palestinian was detained during a similar raid into Marah Rabah village, south of Bethlehem.

In Hebron district, forces stormed several homes and detained a Palestinian during a raid into Beit Ummar, a town to the north of Hebron.

In Jerusalem district, a predawn raid was reported in Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, where a 14-year-old child was detained.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops detained a Palestinian after breaking into his home in Kufr Ra‘i village, south of Jenin.

Another raid was reported in Fahma town, southwest of Jenin, where soldiers fired concussion grenades at youths. No injuries were reported though.

PPS added that another Palestinian was detained from Qalqiliya district.

Israeli forces carry out overnight detention raids almost on a daily basis across the West Bank, triggering clashes with residents.

Clashes often erupt between Palestinian youth who attempt to block soldiers’ passage, throwing stones and empty bottles and are met with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters, often resulting in serious, sometimes fatal, injuries.
