Israeli army forces Palestinian family to stop repair work on its Hebron‘s old town house

HEBRON, August 30, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli army ordered on Thursday a Palestinian family in the old town of the southern West Bank city of Hebron to stop repair work on its run down house, according to sources at the city’s Palestinian Reconstruction Commission.

Soldiers raided the house of Ishaq Maharmeh in the old town, which is under full Israeli military control, and ordered him to stop repair work on his house, claiming he should first obtain permission from the Israeli military governor.

The Reconstruction Commission tries to help Palestinian residents of the old town with renovating their run-down homes in order to help them stay in their homes and not leave them, as Israel wants in order to take them and turn them over to Israeli settlers.
