NABLUS, August 30, 2018 (WAFA) – Residents of the village of Qaryout, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, were surprised to find out on Thursday that Jewish settlers had set up a new settlement outpost on their land, according to Ghassan Daghlas, the official in charge of the settlements file in the northern West Bank.
He told WAFA that villagers found five caravans on their land, equipped with water and other services, in addition to the construction of new pillars for other caravans that will be brought by the settlers to that land, located between the illegal settlements of Eli and Shilo.
He said the land in question is private Palestinian land.
An Israeli court has condoned earlier this week illegal settlement construction on private Palestinian land as long as it is done with “good intentions,” giving therefore the green light to the settlers to grab Palestinian land anywhere they want.
