Construction Cost Index down in July, says Statistics Bureau

 

RAMALLAH, August 26, 2018 (WAFA) – The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank reached 105.87 with a slight decrease of 0.06% during July 2018 compared with June 2018 (base year 2013 = 100), according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

The CCI for residential buildings slightly decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.11%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.12%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2018 compared with the previous month.

Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Non-residential Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for non-residential buildings reached 105.75 with a slight decrease of 0.08% in the West Bank during July 2018 compared with June 2018 (base year 2013 = 100).

The CCI for Non-Residential buildings slightly decreased due to the decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.13%, while rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.08%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2018 compared with the previous month.

Slight Decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Skeleton Buildings

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for skeleton buildings reached 105.54 with a slight decrease of 0.06% in the West Bank during July 2018 compared with June 2018 (base year 2013 = 100).

The CCI for skeleton buildings slightly decreased due to the slight decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.09%, and rental of equipment by 0.04%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2018 compared with the previous month.

Decrease in the Road Cost Index (RCI)

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 110.92 with a decrease of 0.17% in the West Bank during July 2018 compared with June 2018 (base month December 2008 = 100).

The overall RCI decreased due to the decrease in operating costs of equipment and maintenance by 1.24%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.38%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.47%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July 2018 compared with the previous month.

Increase in the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI)

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 114.42 with an increase of 0.10% in the West Bank during July 2018 compared with June 2018 (base month January 2010 = 100).

Water Networks Cost Index reached 116.34 with an increase of 0.21%, while Water Reservoirs Cost Index reached 110.18 with a decrease of 0.17% during July 2018 compared with the previous month.

Slight Increase in the Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI)

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) reached 109.86 with a slight increase of 0.09% in the West Bank during July 2018 compared with June 2018 (base month January 2010 = 100).
