PARIS, August 24, 2018 (WAFA) – Spokesperson of the French foreign ministry said late Thursday that France was concerned over the continuing detention by Israeli authorities of French citizens Salah Al-Hammouri.
The spokesperson said the French President and she have discussed this issue with the Israeli Prime Minister on several occasions and called for the release of Al-Hammouri, who is held under administrative detention without charge or trial.
“Salah Hammouri will continue to benefit from the consular protection provided for under the Vienna Convention, according to which he has been able to receive regular visits by the French consular authorities since the start of his detention," said the statement.
"We reiterate our request that all his rights be upheld."
