Official: First batch of Palestinian pilgrims to arrive in Palestine on Saturday

 

RAMALLAH, August 24, 2018 (WAFA) – Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Yousef Ed’ais, said on Friday that the first batch of Palestinian pilgrims who performed Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage in Mecca, are expected to arrive in Palestine on Saturday.

Ed’ais told the official Voice of Palestine radio that the pilgrims of the West Bank will be bused there in three main batches and throughout period of three days starting from Saturday.

He said the Karamah border crossing, the only border crossing on Palestine-Jordan border, will be opened for 24 hours to allow entry of pilgrims to the West Bank.

As for pilgrims from the Gaza Strip, the minister said their first batch would be flown from Saudi Arabia to Egypt on Sunday and will then enter the Gaza Strip in batches as of Thursday.
