NABLUS, August 19, 2018 (WAFA) – Extremist Israeli settlers early Sunday morning attacked a vehicle with stones and injured four of its passengers on Nablus-Qalqilia road in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian security sources.
Settlers from Yitzhar settlement, south of Nablus, well-known for its far-right fanatic settlers, attacked with stones Palestinian vehicles travelling on the main Nablus-Qalqilia road, injuring four passengers and destroying their vehicle.
The four wounded passengers, who hail from Tulkarm city in northern West Bank, were moved to Rafidia public hospital in nearby Nablus for medical treatment.
Attacks by extremist Jewish settlers on Palestinians and their property have been on the rise since the death of a 40-year-old settler woman in a suspected hit-and-run attack near Havat Gilad settlement outpost last Thursday night.
The woman, in her 40s, reportedly sustained serious injuries and paramedics at the scene had to pronounce her dead after resuscitation efforts failed.
The Palestinian taxi driver, 63, reportedly fled the scene, but later turned himself in to Palestinian security forces, insisting that it was an accident and that he fled the scene because he was frightened.
Ever since the Thursday incident, settlers from the Nablus-area settlements, mainly Yitzhar, attacked vehicles passing on main roads, torched a bulldozer in Asira al-Qiblia village, uprooted fruitful trees in many areas, as well as attacked homes in the villages of Jaloud and Asira al-Qiblia.
Last night alone, extremist Jewish settlers punctured the tires of many vehicles belonging to Palestinian citizens and spray-painted racist graffiti in the neighborhood of al-Issawiya in occupied East Jerusalem.
