JERUSALEM, August 17, 2018 (WAFA) – Hundreds of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayers in the village of Khan al-Ahmar, to the east of Jerusalem, in solidarity with the village which is facing an imminent threat of demolition by Israeli authorities.
Following the prayers, the worshipers took part in a nonviolent march at the main Jerusalem-Jericho road, which passes near the village, to express their rejection of the Israeli move. The protesters waved the flag of Palestine and chanted slogans condemning Israel’s plan to demolish the village.
Khan al-Ahmar, a few kilometers to the east of Jerusalem, is under threat by Israel of demolition and displacement of its Bedouin community in order to build a Jewish settlement on the location.
