Central Council resumes second day of meetings

RAMALLAH, August 16, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Council resumed on Thursday second day of meetings at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

The 135-member strong Council opened its 29th two-day session on Wednesday night during which President Mahmoud Abbas gave the keynote speech in which he said the meeting should correct the situation facing the Palestinian people.

The agenda includes as well planning a mechanism to transform the Palestinian Authority from an authority into a state and redefining political, security and economic relations with Israel. It will also discuss intra-Palestinian reconciliation and US policy toward the Palestinian issue.

Various committees are expected to present their reports on the recommendations of the Palestinian National Council, which met in Ramallah in April, that deal with the topics on the Council agenda.
