Israeli forces detain 16 Palestinians, including two journalists

 

RAMALLAH, August 6, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained in overnight raids and on Monday 16 Palestinians, including two journalists, from several parts of the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

It said that soldiers detained five people from Hebron, and two people, including a journalist, Ibrahim Rantisi, from Ramallah. A second journalist, Nader Beibars, who works for Palestine TV, was detained from his home in Jerusalem.

Forces also detained four siblings on the road between Ramallah and Jericho after they were assaulted by Israeli settlers. Reports said they were detained for defending themselves against the settlers.

Two people from Bethlehem were detained in addition to one each from Qalqilya and Tulkarm.
