Two casualties in colonists’ attack in southern West Bank

HEBRON, May 13, 2025 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians on Tuesday evening sustained injuries in an attack by Israeli colonists in Khallet Ad-Dabi‘ village in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to a local activist.

Osama Mkhamra said that armed colonists attacked the village, beating up the villagers by batons and sharp objects, endangering their lives and inflicting in a villager’s head.

The casualty was rushed to Yatta Government Hospital.

Local sources said that Israeli forces, which protected the assailants, delayed and obstructed the passage of an ambulance trying to take the casualty, intending to detain him, and rounded up two others, including a young man who sustained an injury in his hand.

They added that other colonists vandalized barbed wire at the frontiers of a cultivated land plot, and chopped down trees in the same area.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
