GAZA, August 2, 2018 (WAFA) – New statistics by the Ministry of Health on the victims of the Israeli open fire policy at the peaceful participants in the Great Return March since March 30 until the end of July showed that 155 Palestinians were shot and killed and 17,259 received different injuries, including gas inhalation.
Based on the data, among the dead 23 were children under the age of 18 years and three women.
Among the injuries, 3279 were children and 1553 women.
The ministry said that 404 were reported in severe injuries at hospitals, 4141 moderate and 4354 minor.
It said 4348 were injured by live ammunition, 430 by rubber-coated metal bullets, 1593 severe gas suffocation and 2700 different injuries.
As for the location of the injury, 648 were in the head and neck, 374 chest and back, 409 in the abdomen and pelvis, 1148 upper limbs, 4546 lower limbs and 1747 other.
There have been 68 amputation cases, the majority in the lower limbs, two upper limbs and six fingers.
The ministry said direct targeting of medical crews led to two medical crews killed and 360 injuries with live bullets and gas suffocation. In addition, 69 ambulances were damaged.
