BETHLEHEM, July 31, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli authorities informed owners of six homes in the village of al-Walajeh, northwest of Bethlehem, that their homes will be demolished because they were built without permit, local activist Ibrahim Awadallah said on Tuesday.
He told WAFA that an Israel army force accompanied by staff from the so-called civil administration, an arm of the Israeli military government, broke into the village and handed the homeowners the demolition orders.
They were also summoned to appear at the West Jerusalem municipality to be questioned on how and why they built their homes.
Israel has been waging a campaign to demolish Palestinian homes in Walajeh, which it has annexed to Jerusalem. At least 20 homes were either demolished or ordered to stop construction and 80 more are still pending in court as owners try to stop the demolition.
