Israeli forces conduct military drills in populated area near Nablus

NABLUS, March 20, 2018 (WAFA) - Israeli forces conducts military drills with live ammunition for the second day in a row in Khirbet al-Tawil, north of the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Yousef Derieh, member of the anti-settlements committee in Nablus, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers erected a camp in the area on Monday and started military drills with live ammunition.

He noted that the Israeli forces did not notify people of these military exercises and how long they would continue. Rather, the drill continued in an area Israel claims is a firing zone even though this area is populated with Palestinians.

The Israeli human rights group B’Tselem described such training as “part of Israel’s longstanding policy aimed at driving Palestinian communities out of the area.”
