RAMALLAH, March 13, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) reaffirmed on Tuesday its rejection of any meeting with US officials.
It called in a statement on Palestinian journalists who were invited to meet with an official US delegation in the US consulate in Jerusalem not to attend the meeting.
It warned that the participation in the meeting is considered a violation of syndicate decisions that go in line with the national stance of boycotting all meetings with US officials.
The Palestinian Authority decided to boycott meetings with US officials following American recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel in December.
The PJS, which represents Palestinian journalists in the occupied territories, said meeting with US officials at this time is an attempt by the US administration to weaken and split the Palestinian consensus and popular stance that reject any meetings with US official.
The PJS said “it trusts that the journalists are committed to its decisions and the national consensus and in their ability to prevent efforts to weaken the Palestinian front.”
It warned that “it will take any necessary action against any journalist who participates in these meetings, whether it was in occupied Jerusalem or any other place inside or outside Palestine.”
