JERUSALEM, March 9, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli police on Friday prevented Palestinian activists from organizing a marathon in Jerusalem that was to coincide with another marathon by Israeli settlers, according to local sources.
Police also arrested activist Mohammad Abul-Hummus, one of the organizers of the marathon, after assaulting him and confiscating his vehicle, in addition to confiscating Palestine flags at the scene.
The police also arrested another Palestinian identified as Fadi Mutawir who was at the scene of the marathon, which was supposed to take place outside Damascus Gate in Jerusalem on Friday afternoon.
The marathon was supposed to take place in response to another marathon by Israeli settlers under the auspices of the Israeli municipality of occupied Jerusalem.
