RAMALLAH, February 27, 2018 (WAFA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Tuesday condemned the Israeli decision to impose municipal taxes on properties owned by churches that are not houses of worship.

It affirmed in a statement that these measures come in an attempt to alter the status quo of the historical Christian and Islamic sites and places in Jerusalem.

It expressed solidarity with the Christian Churches and warned against these unprecedented dangerous steps, which constitute a grave violation of international law and treaties.

The OIC called on the international community to pressure Israel and hold it responsible of international law and the Geneva conventions.
