JERUSALEM, February 18,2018 (WAFA)- Israeli authorities Sunday forced a Palestinian family in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan to clear their privately-owned commercial store of all its contents as a prelude to being self-demolished by the family, sources said
The Israeli West Jerusalem municipality previously issued a demolition notice for the store, under the pretext of lacking an Israeli-issued building permit.
Palestinians say they are forced to build in East Jerusalem without a permit because getting a building permit is almost impossible. At the same time, thousands of new housing units are constantly built for Israeli settlers only.
To be noted, many families are forced to demolish their homes with their own hands to avoid the high costs of paying for Israeli government’s bulldozers.
